AI validation tools promise instant reports in 60 seconds. But can an AI model open a credit card, or sign a Letter of Intent?
The synthetic persona trap
Large language models are optimized to be helpful and agreeable. When fed a startup prompt, synthetic personas routinely score ideas 85/100, encouraging founders to build. But synthetic personas do not have real budgets, real bosses, or real operational friction.
A real customer hesitates, negotiates, and sometimes says no for reasons that have nothing to do with your pitch. That friction is the signal. A model trained to please cannot produce it, which is why a synthetic 85/100 and a real 4-out-of-20 letters of intent can describe the exact same idea.
